Missing Kensington girl may have been found

Emergency crews rushed to Tilden Park this afternoon and it is believed that a missing Kensington teen has been found, according to preliminary reports from police.

A Kensington police officer said that emergency crews were transporting someone to John Muir Medical Center in Walnut Creek, according to police.

Officials have not yet confirmed that the person found was 17-year-old Rosie Blankenburg, who was last seen leaving at about 8 a.m. Wednesday to go to Berkeley High School.

Kensington police and the Contra Costa County Sheriff’s Office searched for Rosie throughout the night, Kensington police Chief Greg Harman said.

Sheriff’s spokesman Jimmy Lee said the sheriff’s search and rescue team launched a full-scale search today.
