Christmas for metalheads, it seems, might be arriving a tad early this year. But what hard-rocking Yuletide it will be, thanks to the Bay Area’s own multi-platinum legends Metallica.

And it’s all in the name of their devoted following, they’ve reported – loyalists who’ve often asked them about doing something special, just for them.

So here ya go – to celebrate their (gulp!) 30th Anniversary this December, the band is playing for special local shows for fan club members only. No casual-listener riff-raff welcome, thank you very much.

The gigs will take place at The Fillmore on Dec. 5, 7, 9 & 10, and tickets can be acquired via But get this – a four-pack is only $19.81 (plus applicable facility fees), in honor of the halcyon year they first revved their speed-metal engines.Single tix? Only 6 bones, in keeping with early-'80s concert prices.

These completely unique shows will include special guests, rare deep-catalog selections, and varied set lists, so if you’ve seen one performance, don’t go home thinking you’ll know what’s going down at the other three.

Got it? Good.

But Met Club members need to pounce by Aug. 8 – you snooze, you lose, even at Christmas!
