Merciless thugs rob men of eyeglasses, cellphone and cash in Hayes Valley assault

Two thugs beat and robbed two men in Hayes Valley early Saturday morning, police said.

The suspects, described by police as men in their late 20s, approached the two victims, aged 25 and 27, at Hayes and Octavia streets around 12:45 a.m., police said.

One of the thugs asked the victims for a cigarette, police said. The thug then grabbed one victim’s eyeglasses and demanded a cigarette before knocking the phone out of the second victim’s hand.

The crook fled with the eyeglasses and cellphone while his partner in crime punched the second victim in the face and took his wallet. Both crooks were seen fleeing northbound on Octavia Street before turning east on Fulton Street, cops said.

No arrests have been made.
