Mental evaluation in Ayres case unavailable until June

Mental evaluations of William Ayres, the child psychiatrist accused of molesting young male patients, will not be available until June. One of the doctors asked the San Mateo County Superior Court for more time to see if the 78-year-old is competent to stand trial for a second time. Last year, a jury deadlocked on charges. Defense lawyers have not disclosed what is ailing Ayres.
