Men accused in lottery ticket theft plead not guilty

Remember the “winner” who was caught on camera cashing stolen lottery tickets on the Peninsula?

A man and an accomplice charged for the crime say they are not the unlucky crooks.

Danny Hamilton and Shawn Reilly, both 25, pleaded not guilty Thursday to charges they carried out several window-smashing burglaries on the Peninsula, including one at a store in Burlingame where four rolls of lottery tickets were nabbed.

Authorities said one suspect was spotted on camera cashing in the tickets at three different stores. Hamilton and Reilly were allegedly caught fleeing a dry-cleaning business they burglarized, cops said.

The men will return to court for a pretrial conference on Sept. 27, followed by a jury trial on Oct. 18, prosecutors said.
