Meeting to address those ‘overwhelmed’ by changes

Muni service cuts, planning development and like may have some residents feeling overwhelmed: at least that’s how some city officials are thinking.

“Overwhelmed?” says a meeting announcement. Supervisor Ross Mirkarimi and member of the planning department are going to discuss the “cumulative impact” of the proposed CMPC Hospital and Medical Office Buildings, 1481 Post Street condos, Pine and Franklin Street condos, the Geary Bus Rapid Transit and Van Ness Rapid Transit plans and the Muni cuts to service.

All this will impact the Cathedral Hill, Japantown, Pacific Heights, Russian Hill and Tenderloin neighborhoods. The meeting is about “what we can do to support good planning, quality transit and safe streets.”

The meeting, hosted by the Cathedral Hill Neighbors Association, will occur May 17 at 6:30 p.m. at The Sequoias Auditorium, located at 1400 Geary Blvd. and Laguna.
