Medjool hosts party for ousted Newsom staffers

At least there’s a consolation prize for being jettisoned from Mayor Gavin Newsom’s Office of Neighborhood Services: a party at The City’s only restaurant with a roof deck.

Newsom dismissed Alfredo Pedroza and Alex Randolph – two popular liaisons to the LGBT and Latino communities – from the Mayor's Office of Neighborhood Services to make room for staffers from his failed gubernatorial campaign.

But the two are receiving well wishes from friends and colleagues who will gather at a party on Thursday. And where else would you have a party of San Francisco’s politically connected? They’d have it at Gus Murad’s Medjool, of course.

Hundreds of people – from political types to mayoral staffers – are attending the party, according to the Facebook page for the event, but there’s no word as to whether Newsom, himself, will attend.
