Medical center CEO paints bleak health care picture 

The San Mateo County Medical Center CEO Susan Ehrlich presented a health care system in crisis, with more than 5,300 patients on a waiting list to see a primary care physician, waits of up to 1½ years for a clinic visit and a 14 percent increase in emergency room visits. The Sequoia Healthcare District pledged $4.3 million that will partially fund and help consolidate three overburdened health clinics into a larger facility.
