Mechanical problem causes morning Caltrain delays

Several northbound Caltrains are running behind schedule Monday morning after a train was taken out of service due to a mechanical problem, an agency spokeswoman said.

Train No. 215 has been canceled and removed from service, prompting delays to trains No. 217, 319 and 221, Caltrain spokeswoman Christine Dunn said.

As of 8:30 a.m., train No. 319 was 40 minutes late, train No. 217 was 23 minutes late and train No. 221 was 21 minutes behind schedule.

Train No. 319 is making train No. 215's stops, she said.
