  • Floyd Mayweather Jr. will meet Manny Pacquiao on May 2, 2015 in a welterweight showdown that will be boxing's richest fight ever. Mayweather himself announced the bout Friday, Feb. 20, 2015 after months of negotiations, posting a picture of the signed contract online.
The fight is so big, Manny Pacquiao and Floyd Mayweather Jr. won't be spending much time promoting it.

The two boxers will get together March 11 in Los Angeles for the only press conference before the week of the fight, organizers said Monday. They won't meet again until the final press conference at the MGM Grand in the days before the May 2 mega fight.

Both fighters have begun training for the bout, with Pacquiao arriving in Los Angeles over the weekend from the Philippines. He will train at the Wild Card gym in Hollywood, while Mayweather trains in his own gym in Las Vegas.

Fans hoping to get a glimpse of the fighters at the Los Angeles press conference figure to be out of luck. The event is open only to credentialed media.
