Mayor touts low crime stats and Muni

Mayor Gavin Newsom figures he has had the best three weeks of his term so far. Crime stats are low, Muni trains are running on time (mostly), The City and county passed a balanced budget with no new taxes and it's signed off on two massive projects -- the redevelopment of the Hunters Point Shipyard and a new Transbay Terminal.

"Say what you will, I think it's been the best three weeks any mayor could hope for," Newsom said after discussing The City's cutting edge energy efficiency programs."This caps off a pretty extraordinary July and August."

Well, almost.
