Mayor on hand to rededicate historic building

San Francisco Mayor Gavin Newsom will join Union Bank of California officials today to rededicate the bank’s Main Banking Hall at 400 California St., a historic landmark. The 1908 bank was the first new commercial structure in the Financial District to open after the 1906 earthquake and fires. Union Bank, originally founded in 1864 as The Bank of California, is one of the nation’s 25 largest financial institutions.
