Mayor Ed Lee’s pension measure to undergo first public hearing

While Mayor Ed Lee, members of the Board of Supervisors and labor leaders have sung great praises of their so-called consensus measure to bring down pension costs, the public will have its first chance to talk about the proposal during Thursday morning’s Board of Supervisors Rules Committee hearing.

Public Defender Jeff Adachi, who is leading a separate effort to rein in pension costs with a measure of his own, said he wants the board to change the proposal to generate more savings for The City and then he would drop his effort.

The board’s Rules Committee meets Thursday, at 9:30 a.m., at City Hall in Room 263.
