Mayor announces $98M in funding for city improvements

Mayor Ed Lee joined other city leaders, including Public Works Director Mohammed Nuru, at the corner of Eureka and 22nd streets in Eureka Valley on Thursday, May 28, 2015 to announce a $98 million general fund budget proposal for the Public Works Department to retain funding for resurfacing The City’s roadways. It also includes money for street cleaning, tree care and new public bathrooms. After the announcement, Lee joined workers who had completed the Public Works’ trade union apprenticeship program and they fixed a sunken segment of roadway on Eureka Street.
