The Associated Press broadcaster was scheduled to be inaugurated as the 104th president of the National Press Club at a black-tie gala Saturday night. Hamrick said he will focus on retention and diversity among the organization's membership. The club has more than 3,500 members and hosts thousands of events annually. He succeeds Bloomberg News correspondent Alan Bjerga.
