Mariposa Studio does Greek tragedy in dance

Where do Aeschylus, Euripides and The Velvet Underground come together? In "Cassandra at Mission Creek," a production presented by the Mariposa Studio and Dancers’ Group that runs through Nov. 10. The show’s creators — director John LeFan and choreographer Anna Dal Pino — call it "a play in polyrhythm, a murder spree ballet, and a war where even the winners lose."

Performances are at 8 p.m. Thursdays through Saturdays at the Mariposa Studio, 2808 Mariposa St., San Francisco. Tickets are $15 to $30 and also available on a "pay what you can" basis. Visit www.brownpapertickets.com or call (800) 838-3006 for details. For general information about the show, visit www.mariposastudio.org or call (415) 861-4330.
