Man’s car stolen from Sunset district home

A man’s car was stolen in the Sunset some time between Saturday night and Sunday morning, police said.

An unknown suspect broke into the 71-year-old victim’s car, which was parked in front of the victim’s house in the 1500 block of 26th Avenue, some time between 9:30 p.m. and 6:30 a.m. The thief took the garage door opener and opened up the garage, police said.

The suspect entered the garage and took a set of car keys hanging on the wall and used the keys to drive off in the victim’s car that was parked out front.

No suspect information was available as of Monday morning.
