Mandalay Bay puts the fans first in May

With summer around the corner, it is time to start planning some rest and relaxation.

Mandalay Bay Resort and Casino in Las Vegas is celebrating Fan Appreciation Month in May with an offer for guests to enjoy two nights at the resort and two tickets to Disney’s “The Lion King” starting at $222.

The show is celebrating its second year on the Strip.

“The Lion King” has been rated the world’s No. 1 musical.

Mandalay Bay’s production of “The Lion King” is staged with all the same music, sets and costumes as other companies that have put on the show, which has become a worldwide phenomenon.

The Las Vegas production features an international cast of performers who have won acclaim in productions of “The Lion King” around the world, including Broadway, Taipei, South Africa, London, Los Angeles, Australia, Toronto, Shanghai, Paris and Holland.

The musical has been seen by more than 55 million people, in 18 productions, since its premiere in 1997.

“The Lion King” productions have grossed more than $4.3 billion to date.

The show is performed Monday through Thursday at 7:30 p.m. with Saturday and Sunday shows at 4 and 8 p.m. The Vegas version of “The Lion King” will run through Dec. 30.

Before the show, guests can soak up Las Vegas’ beautiful May weather in the resort’s 11-acre tropical pool environment or head over to Shark Reef Aquarium, North America’s only predator-based aquarium and exhibit with more than 2,000 animals.
