Man struck in the head with a hammer in the Tenderloin 

A 67-year-old man was assaulted with a hammer in the Tenderloin on Monday, police said.

The victim was in the 200 block of Golden Gate Avenue about 3:30 p.m. when a man in his 40s struck the victim in the head with a hammer, police said.

The suspect fled and is still at large.

The victim sustained a laceration to his head and was treated at the hospital. The injury was not life-threatening.
