Man stopped for riding bike on sidewalk outs himself as parolee

If only all arrests were this easy.

Two officers from Ingleside Station were on a routine patrol early Tuesday morning in the 3100 block of Mission Street when they came upon a man wearing a backpack who was riding his bicycle on the sidewalk.

The officers stopped the man and he immediately said he was on probation with a search condition and that he had drugs and weapons in his backpack, police said.

The officers searched the backpack and found a large amount of methamphetamine and marijuana, several vials of prescription drugs, a digital scale and $500. They also found a ledger with a list of names of people who owed him money.

He was taken to Ingleside Station and booked on a variety of charges.
