Man stabbed while sleeping in tent under SF freeway 

A man sleeping in a tent underneath a freeway overpass in South of Market was stabbed in the leg and stomach for “no reason,” he told police.

The 36-year-old man awoke to a man with a knife inside his tent near Alameda Street and San Bruno Avenue around 12:15 a.m. Monday. After the stabbing, he was admitted to San Francisco General Hospital, but his injuries were not life-threatening.

The suspect fled and was not arrested. Police did not receive a detailed description of the attacker.
