Man stabbed in back over a bottle of booze in the Mission on Monday 

A man was stabbed in the back during a struggle with another man over a bottle of booze in the Mission district Monday, police said.

The fight between the 30-year-old victim and the suspect, a man of unknown age, happened near Erie Street and South Van Ness Avenue about 6:50 p.m., police said. As the victim attempted to walk away, he told police he felt like someone had punched him in the back. He then realized he had been stabbed.

The suspect fled and no arrest was made.

The victim was hospitalized but his injuries were not life-threatening.
