Man stabbed after argument at pool hall in the Fillmore

A man got more than a scratch when a pool game went awry.

A man was stabbed after an argument between men playing pool in the Fillmore early Wednesday morning, police Officer Gordon Shyy said.

The 58-year-old victim was with two other men playing pool in the 1500 block of Fillmore Street about 12:15 a.m., Shyy said, when they got involved in an argument with the 52-year-old suspect.

The three men left the establishment but the suspect came after them and ran down the block and stabbed the victim in the torso, Shyy said.

The three men then fled the scene in a cab and went to California Pacific Medical Center. However, since CPMC doesn't have a trauma center, the victim was transferred to San Francisco General Hospital via ambulance where he is reportedly in stable condition.

The suspect in the stabbing was arrested near the crime scene and was identified by police as Nae Park, 52, of San Francisco.

He was booked on assault with a deadly weapon charges, Shyy said.
