Man shot near Candlestick Point in SF

A man was injured in a shooting at Candlestick Point on Wednesday, police Officer Gordon Shyy said.

Police responded to the 1300 block of Shafter Street in the Bayview about 7:19 p.m., where the 52-year-old victim lived, Shyy said. He reportedly drove himself home after he was shot.

His girlfriend told police that he had been at Candlestick Point with the 42-year-old suspect in the shooting, who was known to the victim, Shyy said.

The two began arguing and the suspect pulled out a handgun and shot the victim.

The victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries, which were not life-threatening.

No arrest was made as of Thursday, Shyy said.

Anyone with information about the shooting is encouraged to call the Police Department's anonymous tip line at (415) 575-4444 or to send a tip by text to TIP411 with "SFPD" at the beginning of the message.
