Man shot in leg in Western Addition

The passenger of a car exiting a Western Addition parking lot Tuesday night was shot in the leg , police said.

Police responded to Kaiser Permanente San Francisco Medical Center at about 9:30 p.m. on a report that a shooting victim had arrived. The wounded 22-year-old man, who was eventually transported to San Francisco General Hospital, told officers he was in a car that was leaving a parking lot near Pierce and Turk streets when an unknown gunman walked up and opened fire.

The victim did not provide a detailed description of the shooter, Officer Gordon Shyy said, adding his injuries are not life threatening.
