Man shot in leg in Tenderloin over gambling debt

A man was injured in a shooting in the Tenderloin on Saturday that was reportedly over a gambling debt, police said.

The 26-year-old victim was in an argument with another man over a gambling debt in the 100 block Turk Street about 2:55 a.m. when the man pulled out a handgun and shot the victim in the leg, police said, before fleeing the scene in an unknown direction.

The victim was treated at the hospital for his injuries, which were not life threatening.

There was very little description of the suspect in the shooting available Monday morning.
