Man shot in holiday altercation in Redwood City 

Redwood City detectives are looking for two men in connection with a shooting at a Fourth of July party that left one man injured after a fight.

At approximately 6:25 p.m., during a party on the 500 block of Vera Avenue, three men reportedly got into an argument that quickly escalated into a physical fight. During the scuffle, one man — a 34-year-old Redwood City resident — was shot; the other two fled the scene in two vehicles.

According to Detective Sgt. Steve Blanc, the department said the suspects may be involved in gang activity.

Both men are described as Hispanic males between 25 and 30 years of age. They fled the scene in a black 1980s model Buick Grand National and a metallic gray 1960s Mercury Cougarconvertible.

The victim was released after being treated at an unidentified local hospital.
