Man shot in arm while driving in Bayview, jumps out of moving car 

A man who was shot in the arm as he was driving in the Bayview jumped out of the moving car before it crashed into a gate last weekend, police said Monday.

The 23-year-old victim was driving in the 1500 block of Newcomb Avenue about 9:56 p.m. Saturday when he heard gunfire and the driver's side window of his vehicle shattered. He then realized he had been struck in the arm, police said.

The victim jumped from the moving car through the window.

The vehicle kept moving down Newcomb Avenue until it crashed into a gate in front of a residence.

It was unknown who fired the shots.

The man's injuries were not life-threatening.
