Man robs Crocker Amazon liquor store with threat of violence from a hammer

A man armed with a hammer robbed a Crocker Amazon liquor store Tuesday, police said.

The suspect, who appeared to be in his late 20s, walked into the store in the 1200 block of Geneva Avenue about 2:33 p.m. holding a hammer and demanded money from the 34-year-old female clerk behind the counter, police said.

The suspect slammed the cash register with his hand while holding onto the victim's arm before he slapped her in the face and took money from the register.

The thief fled and was not arrested.
