Man robbed at gunpoint in Chinatown after refusing to buy drugs

A man was robbed at gunpoint in Chinatown early Saturday morning after he refused to buy drugs from the suspects, police said Monday.

The 20-year-old victim was in the area of Clay and Kearny streets about 3 a.m. when three men who appeared to be in their 20s approached and asked the man if he wanted to buy drugs.

The victim said no and then one of the men brandished a handgun and demanded the victim's belongings.

The victim turned over his cash, cellphone and a check, police said.

He was not injured in the robbery and no arrests were made.
