Man pumps up before looting fire station

The crook was apparently fired up about getting into shape.

In a bizarre burglary Monday morning, police said an unarmed 30-year-old man sauntered into an unlocked door of a fire station near San Francisco State University, worked out in the gym and then tried on clothes that had been in a dryer before firefighters detained him.

Around 6:05 a.m., police responded to the burglary report at the San Francisco Fire Department’s Station 19 at 390 Buckingham Way.

Nine firefighters were asleep when the bizarre man hopped a fence and came through the back door. He allegedly stole cash, then used the station’s gym as if he had a membership, police said.

Firefighters told cops they awoke and found the man in the station. They held him until cops arrived to arrest him.

“U.S currency was missing but officers were unable to locate it,” police said.

The suspect’s identity was not immediately available.
