A man was pummeled with a skateboard and stabbed in the back while trying to run from two thugs in the Mid-Market area early Thursday, police said.
The 31-year-old victim had an argument with the men in the 1200 block of Market Street around 12:50 a.m. and attempted to flee. One of the thugs struck him with a skateboard. After the victim fell to the ground, the other thug stabbed him.
He was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with nonlife-threatening injuries, police said.
