Man knocked unconscious with a bag of rocks in the Tenderloin

A man was knocked unconscious by another man who was wielding a sack of rocks in the Tenderloin on Tuesday, police said.

The 54-year-old victim was reportedly involved in an argument with the suspect, a man who appeared to be in his 40s, in the 100 block of Taylor Street about 5:40 p.m., police said.

The suspect then chased the victim across the street and assaulted him with what police said was either a sock or bag full of rocks until the victim lost consciousness.

The suspect then fled.
