Man killed in Bayview homicide last month identified 

A 25-year-old man with no known residency who was fatally shot in San Francisco's Bayview District last month has been identified by the San Francisco medical examiner's office.

Based on the police investigation, the victim, Charles Williams, was fatally shot shortly before 9 p.m. on Jan. 25 near the intersection of Third Street and Quesada Avenue.

Upon arrival at the scene, officers found the victim unresponsive. Officers attempted CPR, but Williams died at the scene, police said.

No suspects have been arrested and the motive for the shooting remains under investigation, according to San Francisco police Officer Grace Gatpandan.

Witnesses reported seeing a possible suspect vehicle at the scene and investigators are working to identify the vehicle and any suspects, Gatpandan said.

The shooting took place less than a block from the Bayview branch of the San Francisco Public Library.
