Man injured in shooting in the Mission

A man was injured in a shooting in the Mission on Tuesday, police said.

The 32-year-old victim was walking out of his house near York and Bryant streets about 6:27 p.m. when he was confronted by two men who appeared to be in their 20s, police said.

The men forced the victim back toward his front door and demanded he open it, police said. The victim took out his key, but then broke it and was able to break free and run away.

The victim heard a gunshot as he fled and then realized he had been hit in the leg.
