A man was injured after another man ran him over in his car after an argument at a mid-Market area nightclub early Saturday morning, police said Tuesday.

The 25-year-old victim was at the club in the area of Sixth and Jesse streets about 1:54 a.m. when he and the suspect began arguing, police said.

The suspect reportedly left the club and got into his car with the victim following behind and in an attempt to confront the suspect he stood in front of the suspect's moving SUV.

Witnesses told police that the SUV then sped up and ran over the victim, who remained unconscious until police arrived.

The SUV reportedly fled north on Sixth Street to Market. There was little description of the suspect Tuesday.

The victim sustained a contusion to the back of his head. Police said his injuries were not life threatening.
