Man in life-threatening condition following Mission shooting 

A 39-year-old man who on Saturday reportedly tried to calm a heated argument between a group of men in the Mission was shot twice.

The fight unfolded near 24th and Bryant streets at 8:29 p.m. when three young men involved in the dispute walked away, flagged down a car and returned to the scene with a semi-automatic handgun.

One of the suspects shot the victim in the chest and stomach. The trio then ran back to the parked car and drove away.

The wounded man was admitted to San Francisco General Hospital in life-threatening condition.
