Man in critical condition after Potrero Hill home sprayed with gunfire

A 20-year-old man was fighting for his life in the hospital Saturday night after being shot through the window of a Potrero Hill home, police said.

The gunfire erupted at about 8:25 p.m. Saturday in the unit block of Watchman Way, a cul-de-sac in an aging public housing complex slated for redevelopment under The City’s SF HOPE program.

“He was inside his house, and the shots came through the window,” police spokesman Officer Albie Esparza said.

The victim was rushed to San Francisco General Hospital with multiple gunshot wounds to the torso, according to Esparza.

He remained in intensive care as of 11:30 p.m. Saturday, Esparza said. An update on his condition Sunday was not immediately available.

No arrests were made, and there was no description of the suspect or suspects responsible.

Investigators are looking into whether the shooting was gang-related, Esparza said.
