Man hit in head with bottle, wallet swiped during Giants celebration in the Mission

Police weren’t the only ones pelted with bottles during rowdy celebrations after the Giants won their third World Series in five years last night.

A 30-year-old man celebrating in the Mission was hit in the back of the head with a bottle and was robbed of his wallet, police said.

The victim was partying in the 1100 block of Valencia Street about 12:10 a.m. when one of four male suspects smashed a bottle against the back of his head, police said.

One of the other suspects took the victim’s wallet from his back pocket and the crooks fled. There was little suspect description Thursday and no arrests were made.

The victim sustained some lacerations to the back of his head and was taken to the hospital for his injuries, which were not life-threatening.
