Man handcuffed inside Marina hotel room while crooks ransack the place

A man was handcuffed inside his hotel room in the Marina early Sunday morning and punched while three crooks ransacked his room, police said.

The incident reportedly began when the 49-year-old victim met a woman in her 30s at the Chinese New Year Parade on Saturday and invited her to his hotel room for drinks, police said.

At some point after they arrived at the room at Lombard and Franklin streets about 2:10 a.m., the woman opened the door to let in two men who appeared to be in their 20s. Those men stormed in and handcuffed the victim, police said. The suspects reportedly punched the victim while he was restrained and ransacked the room, taking cash, a laptop, a cellphone and two wallets.

The victim refused medical treatment.

No arrests have been made.
