Man fatally wounded during robbery in Duboce Triangle area

A man was fatally wounded during a robbery in the Duboce Triangle area early Monday morning, police said.

The 21-year-old victim was with two other men, aged 22 and 21, about 12:38 a.m. Monday when they were approached by five men in the first block of Henry Street, police said.

One of the five men pointed a handgun at the victims and shot one of them, police said.

That victim was pronounced dead at a hospital.

The suspects also stole from the victims a smartphone, wallet and backpack.

The five men fled in a dark-colored sedan, police said.

No arrests have been made, and very little suspect description has been available.

The Medical Examiner’s Office was not ready to release the victim’s identification Monday morning.

The incident marked San Francisco’s 36th homicide of the year.
