Two men killed in separate homicides Saturday in SF

Separate homicides claimed the lives of two men Saturday in San Francisco.

Just before 8:30 p.m., a man was found suffering a stab wound to the chest and lying on a sidewalk at O'Farrell and Larkin streets in the Tenderloin neighborhood, Officer Albie Esparza said.

Emergency personnel transported the victim to San Francisco General Hospital. He was pronounced dead at 8:48 p.m.

Suspect information in that case was not immediately available.

Earlier Saturday, police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Mission Street and Geneva Avenue in the Excelsior District at about 2:45 a.m.

Arriving officers found a man suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

A suspect was seen fleeing the area but no description was available Saturday morning, Esparza said.

Anyone with information on either homicide may make an anonymous call to San Francisco police at (415) 575-4444 or send a tip via text to TIP411 with "SFPD" at the start of the message.
