A man collapsed and died on the plaza of the 24th Street BART station on Tuesday morning.

BART spokesman Linton Johnson said the death appeared to be medically related and occurred around 8:30 a.m. Johnson said the man, whose identity has not been released, collapsed in the back of the aboveground plaza at the station.

No further information about the cause of death has been released, and Johnson said BART officials are still trying to determine if the man was a passenger on the transit line.
