Man critically injured in Tenderloin stabbing during a fight 

A man was critically injured in a stabbing in the Tenderloin on Wednesday, police said.

The 38-year-old victim was reportedly involved in a fight with the suspect, a man who appeared to be in his 40s, at Ellis and Hyde streets about 7:44 p.m., police said.

The suspect reportedly stabbed the victim in the chest before fleeing, police said.

The victim was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries, police said.
