Man critically injured in shooting in the Bayview

A man was critically injured in a shooting in the Bayview on Saturday, police Officer Albie Esparza said.

The 44-year-old victim was sitting in his car near Third Street and Galves Avenue about 1 a.m. when three men, aged 20 to 30, approached on foot and opened fire on the vehicle, Esparza said. He was reportedly struck several times in the arm and torso.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life threatening injuries, Esparza said.

The suspects are still at large, Esparza said.

One of the suspects reportedly had short hair and dark clothing. A second suspect had braided hair, a light-colored jacket and jeans. A third suspect was wearing a baseball cap, a light-colored heavy jacket with a fur hood, and a white t-shirt, Esparza said.
