Man attacks San Francisco mechanic with hubcap

A hot-headed customer was arrested for allegedly smacking a San Francisco automotive repairman in the face with a hubcap Tuesday morning, police at Taraval Station said.

The hubcap flap occurred after a customer brought his car to the shop in the 1700 block of Ocean Avenue around 11:45 a.m. He had a flat tire and got it fixed, but the repairman did not put the hubcap back on.

The customer and repairman began arguing and pushing each other. Then the driver hit the repairman in the face with the hubcap, leading to his arrest on aggravated assault with a weapon charge, police said.
