Man assaults woman in the Mission after she rejects going out with him

This is no way to deal with rejection.

A man assaulted a woman in the Mission district Friday, knocking her unconscious, after he asked her out and she said no, police said.

The man, who appeared to be in his 60s, approached the 49-year-old woman at 16th and Albion streets about 6:05 p.m. and asked her to go out with him, police said. When she said no, the man punched her twice in the face and she lost consciousness.

The woman also sustained a bloody nose, police said. She was taken to the hospital for her injuries, which were not life-threatening.

No arrest has been made.
