Man assaulted with bottle outside Mission district nightclub

A man was assaulted with a bottle outside a Mission district nightclub early Thursday morning, police said.

The 27-year-old was first approached by the two male suspects inside the nightclub in the 3000 block of Mission Street, police Officer Gordon Shyy said.

One of the men confronted the victim and words were exchanged, Shyy said. The victim reportedly then walked away.

The victim left the nightclub about 1:20 a.m. and was attacked by the two men, Shyy said. One of the suspects hit the victim over the head with a bottle while the other kicked him repeatedly.

Injuries to the side of the victim’s head required stitches, but he was released from the hospital, police Officer Albie Esparza said.

The hooligans fled and have not been found, Shyy said. The victim told cops he did not know the two men.

The suspects were described as men in their mid-20s. One is 5-foot-6 with a thin build and shoulder-length hair, last seen wearing a black-and-blue shirt and blue pants. The other is 5-foot-8 with a medium build and shaved head, and was wearing a white shirt and black pants.
