Man arrested in connection with 2014 Bayview killing

A 22-year-old man was arrest Sunday in connection with a Bayview shooting from October 2014 that killed another young man.

Jamoud Westley Greer, 22, was arrested near O’Farrell and Scott streets around 3 p.m. in relation to the shooting death of Reginald Shelton on Oct. 6, 2014 near Harbor Road and Ingalls Street.

Greer was detained in the Western Addition by an officer who later contacted homicide, saying he was in custody, Officer Albie Esparza said.

Greer is currently in County Jail with no bail set, sheriff's department spokesperson Kenya Briggs said.

Last year, Shelton was found suffering from a gunshot wound to the upper body and pronounced dead at the scene.

The night after the shooting, police cordoned off a section of the Bayview near Harbor and Northridge roads and searched for a suspect in the killing. But a foot pursuit and search yielded no results for police, The San Francisco Examiner reported.

Shelton’s death was the 29th of 45 homicides in San Francisco during 2014.
