Man arrested in April Bayview shooting

Bayview Police Station officers arrested a suspect Monday in connection with the April 21 shooting that left a man in critical condition, police said.  

An officer reportedly saw the suspect riding a bike in the area of Third Street and Newcomb Avenue about 2:30 p.m. and arrested him without incident.

In the April 21 incident, a 42-year-old man was shot several times in the 1600 block of Galvez Avenue, police said. The suspect and the victim reportedly know each other.

The victim was taken to the hospital with life–threatening injuries, police said. His condition was unknown as of Thursday.

Officers had been on the lookout for the suspect, police said.

He was booked on attempted homicide charges.
